A Legendary World:
Circle the map in search of vast mythological stories! Discover mythology’s influence on art all over the world while creating your own masterpieces based on these timeless tales. From the adventures of Hercules to the Chinese Monkey King, we’ll recreate epic stories while dreaming up works of our own. Join us for a special week of mythological marvel! Campers will complete art projects based on the theme the World of Mythology which will be displayed at an art show on the final day.
All Aboard the Magic Art Bus:
Hop on the Magic Art Bus and take an impossible virtual adventure. We’ll take super “field trips” to some of our favorite stops around the world and explore the history of art across the continents. Travel to Rome and explore the monuments and masterpieces of this ancient city. Drive along the Saharan desert and discover traditional masks. Next stop, Australia, as we dig deep into aboriginal art. This week, our magical vehicle can go anywhere and do anything as we experience the principles and history of art without ever leaving Baker Hunt! Campers will complete art projects based on the theme World Art History which will be displayed at an art show on the final day.

Around the World in 5 Days:
In a world that never stops turning, every day there’s a new place to discover, new skills to learn and new art to explore. Join Baker Hunt for a week-long contemporary adventure around the world to uncover events, culture and art of the now. We’ll have a whirlwind excursion to the East, West, North and South to find the latest trends in music, fashion and contemporary art. We’ll make our own installations and designs to show everyone back home what we got hip to in various current cultures! Campers will complete art projects based on the theme Current Culture around the World which will be displayed at an art show on the final day.

A Journey through Earth:
Travel deep through our Earth’s layers to explore artifacts from the Crust to the Core. We’ll be focusing on art from lost and ancient cultures. Dig down to the Earth’s Mantle and find buried paintings; dig even deeper to the Outer Core and possibly find a hidden ecosystem preserving works of art from all over the world. We’ll spend the week excavating and experimenting to learn more about long-lost civilizations and how they help us understand our world today. Campers will complete art projects based on the theme Lost Civilizations throughout the World which will be displayed at an art show on the final day.

Delve deep into this trip through space and time to meet the masters of art and learn their tips. We’ll hop from country to country, culture to culture, meeting our favorite artists through the decades to master everything from cave paintings to futuristic sculptures. Budding artistic masters at Baker Hunt will use the power of time travel to recreate the greatest artistic hits throughout time, all in the span of a week! Campers will complete art projects based on the theme Time Travel to Famous Artists which will be displayed at an art show on the final day. FULL & HALF DAY IS SOLD OUT

Camp Learning Goals:
Through hands-on, art-making experience, campers will:
• Learn basic art concepts such as: color theory, drawing techniques, painting techniques, 2D and 3D art-making, character design, and more!
• Explore art history, focusing on: famous artists, important works of art, and a wide range of artistic periods (ex: The Renaissance).
• Practice a wide range of art mediums including: drawing, painting, sculpting, textiles, installation art, printmaking, yoga, creative movement, creative writing, illustration, and more!
• Engage in cross-curricular art-making experiences, as the camps combine the arts with math, science, literature, and more!
• Employ creative problem solving, team work, collaboration, and critical thinking skills.
• Study the relationships between art and culture, history, geography, ecology, storytelling, architecture, and more!
