Hand Piecing Hexagon Quilts

Dana Kuhnline    $40

American Hand Piecing with a running stitch is a method of hand sewing quilts that involves sewing directly on a drawn or stamped line, and has been a popular method of hand-piecing for centuries. It is an alternative method to English Paper Piecing for hand piecing quilts which allows you to do all the same designs without bulky and expensive papers. All you need is a needle and thread for this meditative hand technique that you can carry with you anywhere as your work on your project. We will use this simple method to piece a hexagon flower – the foundation for patterns ranging from a sweet baby quilt to a Grandmother’s Flower Garden to stunning Millefiori quilts. The sky is the limit!  Supply list will be provided after registration.
