Born and raised in Cincinnati, Judy Guttman received her training at The Cincinnati Art Academy and The Central Academy of Commercial Art. For seven years, she worked as a free-lance art director, graphic artist, and illustrator before choosing fine art as her preference. She has served as both President and Treasurer of the Queen City Art Club and exhibits regularly in the club’s group shows. She has exhibited at Gallery 22 in Montgomery; The Design Consortium in O’Bryanville; and the Masterwork 53 Exhibit.
She studied oil painting with Tom Zink, Paul Leyland Thompson, and Janette Maloy and especially prefers the challenges of portraiture. Whether painting portraits, still life, or landscape, she always strives to communicate the essence of her subjects in a poetic atmosphere. Judy has been teaching oil painting and drawing at The Baker Hunt Art & Cultural Center in Covington, Kentucky since 1995.
